ORIGIN

 

Originally from Egypt, the grape variety is also known as Moscato di Pantelleria in Italy and as Moscato d'Alessandria in France. It is currently grown mainly in Sicily, North Africa and other Mediterranean countries. Used exclusively for the table grape market.

LEAF

Medium, trilobed, V-shaped peziolar sinus, upper and lower sinuses closed. Acute teeth.

CLUSTER

Big, long, conical - pyramidal, winged, semi loose.

GRAPE

Big, round, thick and consistent pruinose skin, greenish yellow colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

Standard clone of fair vigor, regular production but not abundant. Good fertility. Suitable for different types of soils. Recommended training systems: little tree, espalier with short prunings. Biotype with good resistance to transport and for conservation.
