Originally from Austria, the grape variety then moved to Germany and later to Italy, where it is now grown in Trentino Alto Adige and sporadically in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. Used exclusively for wine making, it is usually used in blends with other local grape varieties.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
German clone of good vigor, abundant and constant production. Good fertility. Suitable for light and deep soils. Recommended training systems: dense with medium - long prunings. "Green" biotype, is used in high altitude areas. Sensitive to oidium and botrytis, good resistance to cold but not to spring frost due to its early sprouting.
