ORIGIN

 

Originally from Asia Minor, the grape variety is known in California as Thompson Seedless. It is currently the most cultivated seedless grape variety in the world thanks to its use both for fresh marketing and for raisins. Used exclusively for the table grape market.

LEAF

Medium, pentagonal, trilobed, closed peziolar sinus. Irregular teeth.

CLUSTER

Medium - big, conical, winged, compact.

GRAPE

Small, regular, ovoid, thin but firm skin, green colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

Standard clone of high vigor, high production. Medium fertility. Suitable for different types of soils, as long as not too fertile. Recommended training systems: expanded with short prunings. Biotype sensitive to infertility in temperate climates, shows phenomena of incompatibility if grafted on 140 Ru or SO4. Excellent resistance to transport and for conservation.
