Originally from France, the grape variety is widespread in Bordeaux and particularly in the Souterne region. It is currently grown in certain regions of Central-South Italy, France, South Africa, Chile, Australia and New Zealand. Used exclusively for wine making.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
French clone of good vigor, good and constant production. Poor fertility. Suitable for well drained soils. Recommended training systems: GUYOT, SYLVOZ with short prunings. Biotype sensitive to rot, to the virus of leaf curl, prefers temperate climates - fresh.
