ORIGIN

 

Originally from Friuli Venezia Giulia, the autochthonous grape variety is also known as Ribolla Nera. Currently it is grown in the provinces of Udine and Gorizia. Used exclusively for wine making.

LEAF

Medium - large, pentagonal, pentalobate, open V-shaped peziolar sinus, closed V-shaped upper lateral sinuses, open V-shaped lower sinuses. Short and irregular teeth.

CLUSTER

Medium, long, cylindrical, winged, compact.

GRAPE

Medium, irregular, elliptical, elongated, thick and consistent pruinose skin, blue - black colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

Standard clone of discreet vigor, inconstant production. Poor fertility. Suitable for different types of soils. Recommended training systems: double inverted with mixed prunings. Biotype subject to infertility phenomena in case of rainy spring and cold temperatures.
