Originally from Friuli Venezia Giulia, more precisely from the Karst and Istrian areas, the autochthonous grape variety belongs to the Refoschi group, of which it is certainly the most famous and appreciated. Used exclusively for wine making, it gives rise to a ruby red wine with an intense and pleasant aroma, lends itself to a short aging.

Large, roundish, trilobed, open V-shaped peziolar sinus, open V-shaped lateral sinuses. Irregular and sharp teeth.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone very vigorous, good and constant production. Good fertility. Suitable for clay and limestone soils, good exposure. Recommended training systems: espalier with long prunings. Biotype tolerant against chlorosis and drought, sensitive to oidium, good resistance to winter cold but not to late frost.
