Originally from France, the grape variety has spread to Germany and therefore to Trentino Alto Adige. Subsequently it was cultivated with a certain intensity in the Tre Venezie and in particular in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It’s an unstable mutation of Pinot Noir. It is one of the most important quality vines of temperate climates, due to good production and ability to the accumulation of sugars. Used exclusively for wine making, both of still and sparkling wines.
