Originally from Friuli Venezia Giulia, in the past its cultivation was also practised in Treviso and Vicenza. The native grape variety, due to its low production and the difficulty of setting due to the floral abortion due to the sterility of the pollen, can be found today only in rare vineyards in the province of Udine and Gorizia. Used exclusively for wine making, if subjected to overripening, it produces a liqueur wine of a deep yellow colour, delicately perfumed.
