ORIGIN

Originally from France, the grape variety once cultivated in the coolest areas of that region is now spreading in the warm environments thanks to its late maturation. In Italy it has found some utilization in the Centre and the South. Used exclusively for wine making, it gives rise to a very colourful wine, with an intense aroma and long aging.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

French clone of high vigor, excellent production. High fertility. Suitable for poor and light soils, where it anticipates maturation. Recommended training systems: palized with long prunings. Biotype sensitive to oidium but with good tolerance to botrytis, prefers weak rootstocks.
