Originally from Emilia Romagna, the grape variety is widespread in the provinces of Piacenza. Currently it is grown only in some hilly areas of Piacenza. Used exclusively for wine making.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone of good vigor, abundant and constant production. Poor fertility. Suitable for clay soils, chalky as long as not wet. Recommended training systems: GUYOT with mixed prunings. Biotype sensitive to rot, moth and magnesium deficiency.
