ORIGIN

 

Originally from Velletri, the grape variety was obtained by Michele Palieri crossing Alphonse Lavallée x Red Malaga. Currently it is grown in Italy, California and Chile. Used exclusively for the table grape market.


LEAF

Large, pentalobate, roundish, U-shaped peziolar sinus. Medium teeth.

CLUSTER

Big, cylindrical - pyramidal, winged, loose.

 

GRAPE

Big, ellipsoidal, pruinose skin, purple black colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

Standard clone of high vigor, medium - high production. Good fertility. Suitable for different types of soils. Recommended training systems: expanded with short prunings. Biotype that shows incompatibility phenomena if grafted on 140 Ru, 779 P, Kober 5BB. High resistance to transport and for conservation.
