Originally as all the Malvasie in the Eastern Mediterranean basin, the grape variety has been cultivated since ancient times in Friuli Venezia Giulia and even earlier in Istria, where it took its name. Used exclusively for wine making, in purity but also in blends with other local varieties, providing a delicate fragrance and aroma.
