ORIGIN

 

Grape variety of unknown origin, it belongs to the great Malvasie family but is distinguished by the aromatic taste of the fruit. The grape variety is cultivated mainly in the provinces of Piacenza, Parma and Reggio Emilia but is also cultivated sporadically in the Oltrepò Pavese and in Lazio. Used exclusively for wine making, the wine obtained is straw yellow with a pleasant muscat aroma, sweet.

LEAF

Medium, pentagonal, pentalobate, U-shaped peziolar sinus, very deep upper lateral sinuses, little marked lateral sinuses. Irregular, sharp teeth.

CLUSTER

Medium, long, pyramidal, winged, loose.

GRAPE

Medium, spheroidal, pruinose and thick skin, golden yellow colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE


Italian clone of medium vigor, medium and constant production. Good fertility. Suitable for hilly soils well exposed, not very fertile. Recommended training systems: medium expansion with long prunings. Biotype subject to infertility, suitable for climate with medium - poor drought.
