Originally from the Peloponnese, the grape variety has spread in Lazio and Campania and, even if only a little everywhere in Central-Southern Italy. It is distinguished from the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica due to the absence of aromaticity in the grape. Used exclusively for wine making, it provides a deep straw yellow wine with a bitter taste with a tendency to oxidation.
