Originally from France, the grape variety is widespread in the Centre and North-East in Italy and France where it is known as Cot. It is currently the most common variety in Argentina. Used exclusively for wine making, both in purity and suitable for cutting with other vines.

Large, orbicular, whole, open U-V peziolar sinus, open V-shaped upper lateral sinuses, absent lower lateral sinuses. Irregular, medium teeth.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone of medium vigor, production conditioned by the seasonal trend: high in dry years, reduced with wet spring. Good fertility. Suitable for clay, limestone and dry soils. Recommended training systems: expanded with long or short prunings. Biotype sensitive to oidium, rot and downy mildew.
