Originally from Emilia, the grape variety is grown in the province of Reggio Emilia and Parma, it is one of the most classic Emilian Lambruschi. It has spread in some areas of southern Italy for its vigour, productivity and adaptability to different environments. Used exclusively for wine making, the wine obtained is very coloured, tannic, full bodied. It is bottled sweet to get the types sweet and sparkling.

Medium, pentagonal, trilobed, V-shaped or U-shaped peziolar sinus, slightly marked U-shaped upper lateral sinuses. Not very pronounced teeth.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone vigorous, good and constant production. Discreet fertility. Suitable for soils not excessively fertile. Recommended training systems: GDC or not too expanded with short prunings. Biotype very rustic, versatile, can be cultivated in different types of environments and does not present particular problems of climatic adaptation.
