ORIGIN

 

Originally from the 1930s, the grape variety was made up of Prof. Manzoni at the Istituto Tecnico Agrario di Conegliano, crossing Riesling Renano x Pinot Bianco (Incrocio 6.0.13). It spread first in the province of Treviso and then in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Used exclusively for wine making, in purity to produce quality wines, quiet, dry and for sparkling wines both in purity and as a blend thanks to its contribution of acidity.

Medium, pentagonal, pentalobate, V-shaped closed peziolar sinus, deep U-shaped lateral upper sinuses closed with overlapping edges, closed lower lateral sinuses.

Medium - small, conical, winged, compact.

GRAPE

Medium - small, spherical, thick and consistent pruinose skin, yellowish colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

Italian clone medium vigorous, regular and constant production. Medium fertility. Suitable for stony soils, dry or otherwise well exposed, avoid humid and cold soils. Recommended training systems: spurred cordon and GUYOT. Biotype with good tolerance to climatic adversities, little sensitive to the rot of the bunches.
