Originally from the Burgenland region of Austria, thanks to its good production characteristics and disease tolerance, the grape variety has spread to France, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary and Italy. Used exclusively for wine making, it produces a pure wine of ruby red color with a fruity aroma.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Hungarian clone of excellent vigor, good but inconstant production. Normal fertility. Suitable for hilly, clayey and calcareous soils. Recommended training systems: double inverted with long prunings. Biotype very rustic and resistant, it adapts to different climates. In very humid soils it can manifest slight infertility and millerandage.
