Originally from France, the grape variety is widespread in the Oltrepò Pavese and in the area of Verona. Currently it is also cultivated in Veneto and Emilia-Romagna. Used exclusively for wine making, suitable for cutting with other vines.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone of good vigor, abundant and constant production. Poor fertility. Suitable for clay and wet soils. Recommended training systems: GDC, spurred cordon, GUYOT with short or mixed prunings. Biotype tolerant to the main cryptogamic diseases, sensitive to cold but with good resistance to humid climates.
