Originally from Oltrepò Pavese, the grape variety is diffused in the area of Verona and mainly in the hilly areas of Valpolicella, Valpantena and Bardolino. Used exclusively for wine making in purity, it gives rise to very colourful, fruity wines, useful also for the preparation of superior wines.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone of remarkable vigor, abundant and constant production. Medium - low fertility. Suitable for deep and fresh soils. Recommended training systems: espalier with medium - long prunings, due to the fertility of the distal buds. Biotype that in the rainy years may present problems of millerandage and detachment of the rachis.
