Originally from the Bordeaux region of France. Currently it is cultivated in North-Eastern Italy and in Chile, it is now finding, thanks to the new clones less vigorous and more qualitative, a renewed interest in Italy and abroad. Used exclusively for wine making, often in a blend with fine uvages, it has a characteristic herbaceous taste, which is then reduced with aging.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE
Italian clone vigorous, good but inconstant production. Irregular fertility. Suitable for soils with little clay. Recommended training systems: expanded with long prunings. Very typical biotype, sensitive, unfavourable climatic conditions during flowering can condition the setting.
