ORIGIN

 

Variety of unknown origin, belongs to the group of Piedmont and Ligurian Bianchette. It is currently grown mainly in Piedmont in the Alba area. Used exclusively for wine making, it is usually mixed with other local grape varieties.

 

LEAF

 

Medium, pentagonal, trilobed, open U-shaped peziolar sinus, deep U-shaped upper lateral sinuses, open U-shaped lower lateral sinuses. Rounded teeth.

 

CLUSTER

 

Medium - small, conical - cylindrical, winged, compact.

 

GRAPE

 

Medium - small, ellipsoidal, pruinose skin, greenish yellow colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

 

Italian clone of good vigor, good and regular production. Poor fertility. Suitable for hilly soils, with good exposure. Recommended training systems: espalier with short or mixed prunings. Biotype sensitive to oidium and tolerant to downy mildew attacks.
