ORIGIN

 

Originally from the Albani hills, the grape variety has found diffusion only in Romagna, especially in the hilly areas where it gives a characteristic product. It is currently grown in the provinces of Bologna, Forlì and Ravenna. Used exclusively for wine making.

 

LEAF

 

Large, pentagonal, pentalobate, narrow peziolar sinus with overlapping edges, deep upper lateral sinuses, shallow lower lateral sinuses. Teeth with a concave side and a convex side.

 

CLUSTER

 

Medium - big, long, cylindrical, winged, semi loose.

 

GRAPE

 

Medium, spheroidal, pruinose skin thin but firm, deep golden colour.

COMMENT ON THE CLONE

 

Italian clone of high vigor, abundant and constant production. Medium - low fertility. Suitable for hilly, clayey, well exposed soils. Recommended training systems: SYLVOZ, CASARSA with short prunings. Biotype tolerant to spring frost and drought, poor adaptability to the wind.
